How to lower your commercial trash bill

Most businesses overpay for trash service because of oversized containers, too many pickups, and fees stacked on the bill. You can fix it yourself with the steps below, or send us the bill and we'll do the work for you.

1. Make sure you're not paying for air

If your dumpster is half empty on pickup day, you're paying for a bigger container or more pickups than you need. Dropping from two pickups a week to one, or from an 8-yard to a 6-yard container, can cut a bill noticeably with no change anyone notices.

2. Look at the fees, not just the rate

The rate you were quoted is rarely what you pay. Fuel, environmental, and "regulatory" fees are often added as percentages on top, and some are calculated on top of each other. They can add a large share to the base rate. Many of these are the hauler's own charges, not government fees, and they can be negotiated.

3. Check your contract for auto-renewal

Many commercial trash contracts renew automatically for years at a time, often with price increases built in. Find the end date and the cancellation window, and put it on your calendar. That window is your best chance to renegotiate.

4. Compare the total, not the quote

When you get pricing from another company, compare the amount due on a real invoice, fees included. A low quoted rate with heavy fees can cost more than a higher rate with none.

5. Or hand it off

If you have better things to do than read trash contracts, send us a recent bill. We'll check the container size, the pickup schedule, and every fee, then come back with a lower price. If you have more than one location, we'll put all of them on one account with one bill and one person to call.

Send us your bill. We'll do the work.

Common questions

How much can I save on my trash bill?

It depends on your current service and fees. Many businesses save by right-sizing containers and pickups and cutting added fees. Send us a bill and we'll show you your real number.

Do I have to switch trash companies to save money?

Not always. Sometimes the savings come from changing your container size or pickup schedule. We'll tell you what makes sense.

I'm locked into a contract. Can I still save?

Often, yes. In many cases we'll cover the early termination fee so you can start saving right away.

Is the audit really free?

Yes. No contract, no obligation. Worst case, you find out you're already paying a fair price.
